Why does the Dominatrix punish her slave?

Discipline is an important part of the relationship between a dominant and submissive. A dominatrix administers discipline in a way she sees fit. At the same time, she understands that she must meet the needs of her submissive and not take things too far. There is a fine balance between safe and dangerous punishment.

Usually, when a dominatrix punishes her submissive, she uses something to help the punishment along. For example, many times the dominant will use a paddle on the submissive.

Whips and canes are also common implements for a dominatrix to use. By using implements instead of her hand, the dominatrix is able to deliver a more sound punishment on her submissive. Spanking with a hand can cause pain for the dominatrix, while an implement can deliver harsher blows that are not painful at all for the dominatrix.

The idea of the punishment is to correct the submissive for something they have done that was wrong. Sometimes, a dominatrix will also administer a spanking as a reminder. If a submissive has a hard time being in a certain situation without acting up, a dominant might spank the submissive before entering that situation. That can serve as a reminder to the submissive that he will be soundly punished if he does not behave appropriately in the situation.

Usually, a spanking such as this is not as hard as a punishment spanking. A spanking used as a reminder is typically just to give the submissive a taste of what is to come if he fails to behave as he should. This kind of spanking is only moderately painful and is used in hopes of not having to administer a stronger punishment later.

While both the dominatrix and the submissive have a sexual connection to punishment that is not the purpose of the punishment. A dominatrix renders a punishment in order to let the submissive know she is in control and she expects certain things from him. It can be demeaning to a point. Most men get embarrassed at the idea of receiving a spanking from a woman. It is that embarrassment, though, that fuels the sexual side of the punishment.

As with everything in dominant and submissive relationships, punishments must be handled with care. It is important that a dominatrix punishes for the right reasons and does everything she can to ensure the safety of her submissive. Dominants must teach their submissives the difference between punishment and play and never mix the two things up.
